New Year. New Subjects

 It has been quite a while since I have been here and posting. I somehow get the feeling I am texting to myself. Why? Because I get little, if any, feed back and less suggestion on what areas I should be covering so that you, the reader, will keep coming back again and again.
 So that may be one reason I spend little time posing under this blog, For Your Information.
   In the past I have acted as a guide for your Bible study time ( If you do study the Bible and find the help useful.) (Have gotten no feedback except for the number of hits that are recorded behind the curtain, so to speak, for each posting)
  I do enjoy ,or I should say, have enjoyed doing so but even I need feedback to feel I am being useful. And that you need it.
   So for 2019 onward I will broaden my area of coverage. I will blog on areas on my interest, and hope that from time to time I may just be talking in an area that interests you. And how am I to know these areas?
   Hopefully you will be telling me. And if you were to leave your email address we may even be able to strike up an email conversation.
   Now that is an idea.
    It will only work if there is a connection made.
   So first I would like to talk about reading. Reading is becoming a lost art. When I talk or post about reading I am talking about books. Not e-books. I am talking about real books of weight. Books that can be held in the hand and pages that can be turned. The things you go to real brick and mortar places and you spend time browsing stacks of literature and non-literature until you find that one book that is calling out to you to be read.
     I have another blog that I use to handle book  reviews of books I have found worthy of being read by others. Not that I am trying to say I know good books when I see them. Yet I do think I have some intelligence when it comes to good stories.
    The Santa Monica Library has what they call a Santa Monica Read each year around summer time. So reading a real book is important.
   Now I am not a big lover of graphic novels as they remind me of comic books more than a progressive form of  book presentation.
I like to use my imagination when I approach a story. Seeing pictures and cartons is not the same as allowing words to flow through my brain and igniting the imagination cells in my cortex.

Should Politics be in The Sermon on Sunday Morning?

   I have been quiet about this . But when I go to my Sunday Service as a good Christian should, I expect to hear from the pastor a well thought out sermon from the Bible. I don't go to service to hear political views or rants about what is happening in the Senate or Supreme Court of the United States.
   Not even in the introduction to the sermon.
    I was taught the sermon outline goes from the secular to the sacred.  To rant about Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford and the addition  of Kavanaugh to the nine judges, and then go into a sermon on the church is just not something I think belongs in the pulpit.
     A person goes to the service on Sunday to hear from God and His Word as researched and developed by a man who has made the ministry his profession.
    Very few , if any, preachers are also political-science experts. And the congregation should not be going to the service to get their weekly politics from.
     A wise wife has been reported to have said to her husband who was the pastor of a church, "you are the pastor. Many pastors have lead their congregations to hell.' Which may mean people tend to follow the pastor and what he says, feeling that he must know.
     Politics should not be... let me say it again,.. must not be mixed in with the sermon.
     In conversation, yes. Politics can be spoke of.

Take Up And Read

Let us get back to the Bible reading. It is very important. As we read the Bible we find out what God wants to reveal to us.
We can't know everything. The secret things belong to God and the revealed things can be known by us.
And just who does the revealing?
For us Christians, we know the answer is God.
He does that through the Bible. He does it using the Jewish scriptures and the books of the New Testament.
Sorry, Roman Catholics, not the extra books stuffed in.
And until we are rightly related to God through Jesus Christ, we don't really get any good out of it.
The reason is simple. We, as Christians, have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit. A gift, yes, in that God now dwells in us as He once dwelled in the Tabernacle in the wilderness. He is our teacher and lives in us revealing Scripture and sealing us.
And He carries with Him gifts to enable us to minister as His Body, The Church, down here on earth.

It is very important we get our understanding correct. And I find books about the Bible help me understand better how to read the Bible. It is a book unlike any other book. But only the Christian knows what I am talking about. But that doesn't mean you are left out.
In earlier postings in this blog, and you can go back and do your own hunt, I discuss this subject. You can't miss it. Just keep going back until you find them.

Without God In The Mix

  America. It is hurting at the moment. I believe  America is the worlds last hope .
  Founded on freedom coming from the Creator, that is God, America has been blessed.
  And where does that strength come from? Truly not the people. It comes from God and where do we find out about God? The Bible. The Hebrew/ Christian scriptures.
   The Torah and the rest.
   We need to get back to Bible study and prayer.
     Trump , no mater what you think about him, is not the answer. Putting God back in the mix, is the answer. Not the eastern concept of a supreme being. Not the colleges.  (the colleges, if you must know, are the last place you can find hope or even a future)
      And sorry to say, our young people unless they shape up and start to think for themselves and not rely on the anti-American globalism they have had poured in their minds and adapted by their system of --what ever. we have no future.
    Hillary and the Democratic party is not the answer. They are part of the problem.
    Without God in the mix we have no future.
     We lost our way after the generation that fought the second world war. The people who birthed the next generation wanted only that the children not experience want and that they had a good life. They seem to have not passed on the reason God had been blessing the USA was because we were the only country that had founded itself on God in the mix. They did not pass on to the children the need for a personal relationship with the creator.
      Is it too late? I hope not.

The Supreme Court Judge to Be

Trump has made a selection for the Supreme Court. Judge Kavanaugh.  I myself feel it is good that he has done so. We should have a balance of nine judges there in order to balance policies and keep our country moving forward.
 There is some fear that the court will lean right.
 So?/
  If the judges made decisions based on what is there in the Constitution and not try to remake the words to mean what they don't--if they try to rewrite what the founding fathers did-- that is wrong and is not what they are there for.
  The whole deal was based on morals founded on the Bible. One supreme being, nationalism and identity..
   Not globalism. Not hate. Yes, there could be debates concerning personal viewpoints.
   I understand there are a few who fear that Roe Vs Wade will be overturned. It should be. The question of abortion should be determined by the states and not the government. Section ten giving the states the right to making a decision like this and not the government is still there.
   Roe vs Wade put the government in our bedrooms. Get them out of there.

Starting Over

So it has been a long time since the last post. The stats of audience last I looked has gone far down. The areas read has plunged down to almost none. I seem to be losing my audience.
 So I have decided to broaden my self--reinvent.
  I am not completely dropping theology and subjects along that line. No. But I will try to present a larger field of subjects..
   It is still day time here in Santa Monica  in the state of California. I am finished with dinner. Pasta. Good pasta. I have taken my vitamins. A good percentage of them I take after eating breakfast. But I do from time to time take herbs. My recent purchase has been flax seed oil. I understand it helps blood flow and cuts down on free radical damage. it helps the liver do its' job.

  To change the subject, let me say how happy I am to be married. God has provided , I believe, a mate for each person. Unless you injure yourself I believe, you should seek and join another in marriage. I am sure I posted something in this subject earlier in this blog, For Your Information, so if you were to look back you should find it.
   If you can't find it, let me know. I will re-discuss the issue.

Trump's Big Need

  Thinking about it. Thinking about the President .of the United States of America.
   He is making so many mistakes. He is acting as a big business owner and not as a politician. I am not sure he will stop and listen.
   What he needs is to slow down and take a look at what needs to be done for the good of America. He was elected to be a President not a business man.

    As a business man he has been taught to bully the other companies and brand his company as better than the others. He is tearing down years and years of what has been built.
    Really he needs to start listening to God. The reason he is not, I have come to see, is because he doesn't know God.
    Someone needs to be brave enough to tell him and offer him a relationship with God. Then someone needs to ,after Trump humbles himself and asks Jesus into his life as his savior.. starting a relationship with God. instruct him how to seek God for direction.
    At the moment he doesn't know God and therefore can't hear God.
    We don't need more welfare and handout programs. We don't need to bully other nations. We need a person who is seeking peace but first he must know peace. Trump does not.
